| Diving in Nemo 33 |
|
Nemo 33 is an indoor diving facility, located in Bruxelles. The water is about 28 degrees Celsius, so you can dive without a wetsuit. You pay a fixed fee of around €40 for an hour access to the dive pool, including gear. You are not allowed to bring your own gear, in order to keep the water clean. The crew runs a tight schedule, so you can be sure to get the diving you want. There is plenty of gear in all sizes avaible, and the quality is very good. The overall facilities (changing rooms, showers, restaurant, etc) are excellent as well. The dive poolThe entrance of the pool is about 1 metre deep and slopes to a plateau on 3 metre and another one on 5 metre, which you can use to do exercises or safety stops. Here are also some windows, which let you look into the restaurant, where the crowd can watch you. From there, you can swim down to another platform at about 10 metres deep, where you can access one small area dressed like a cave and another dressed like a submarine. After this, you have reached the final tube-like part of the dive pool, which lets you go down as far as 33 metres. Why dive Nemo 33For those of us who have been diving some of the most amazing locations in the world, or those of us who believe that real diving is only when you get all salty and cold, indoor diving might sound ridiculous. Surely indoor diving is no subsitute for the real thing, and we don't think that Nemo 33 claims it is. Having said that, Nemo 33 is the ultimate scuba training facility. It is also great to get back into the swing of diving during the winter time or before you go on a big trip. Combined with the great surrounding facilities, it can be a great day out for you. |
