Diving in Thailand

Thailand offers a very wide range of dive destinations with brilliant dive spots in warm tropical waters. Wedged between the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand, this country has a lot of scuba fun to offer. There are so many places where you can dive and there are thousands of dive schools, that it is simply too much to try and name them all here.

Seasonal diving

The only thing to keep in mind when you travel to Thailand for some dives is that not all places are suitable to dive year round. Storms can cause dives schools to close for some time. There are also different seasons in which you can encounter different species, such as whale sharks in September and April in the Gulf of Thailand. If you have specific plans for a destination, make sure you are well informed about the seasons for both weather and marine life.

Travel Thailand

The great thing about Thailand is that it is quite easy to travel around, either by plane, train, luxury coach or via the normal bus system. Once you paid for your airline ticket, life here is cheap and the people are very friendly.

Thailand is one of the more modern Asian countries, which means that you can use traveller cheques and credit cards almost everywhere, a lot of people speak English and medical facilities are generally good. Travelling to Thailand will therefore be comfortable, but very eventful.

Things to do in Thailand

Travelling to Thailand for some great dives gives you the added bonus to explore this beautiful country and its extraordinary culture. You can learn about the Buddhist religion, ride and elephant, visit rainforests and waterfalls, discover hectic Bangkok and make friends with the locals.

Thailand really has a lot to offer for everyone: if you want to dive everyday, or only a few days of your holiday, you’ll never be bored. There are dive spots for every certification level as well.

Protection of the marine environment

It is only recently that the Thai began to understand how precious and valuable their beautiful marine environment is. It is also only recently that they have more means and ways to protect this marine environment from pollution, destruction and all other harms that can be done to vulnerable underwater life.

Therefore it is very important that you do everything in your power to help to protect the reefs and the marine life. So, do not touch or break any coral, do not harass marine life and do not leave any garbage in the water or on the beaches.
